  Moyes will be called to corroborate Paqueta's claims regarding a yellow card he received in West Ham's 1-1 draw away to Bournemouth in August 2023, according to the reporting by the . The Brazilian's defence is built on the premise he couldn't have planned to deliberately receive a yellow card, as he and Moyes had agreed to substitute the player.

  Paqueta was rumoured to be joining Manchester City at the time. His manager agreed if West Ham were in a comfortable winning position, he would be substituted. The Irons took a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute before Bournemouth equalised in the 83rd. The midfielder was booked in injury time.
