Tottenham beat Wigan 3-1 in convincing style on Tuesday night at White Hart Lane to keep their top four aspirations alive.

Gareth Bale scored the opener after 29 minutes, with Luka Modric doubling the home side’s advantage soon after.

Bale made it three and ended the game as a contest midway through the second half, before James McArthur clawed back a consolation for The Latics towards the end.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp Redknapp explained his injury concerns after the game, adding: “Kyle Walker done a groin. Emmanuel Adebayor felt his hamstring and Rafael van der Vaart injured his calf.

“Jermain Defoe injured his hamstring and Aaron Lennon has the same injury.

“We seem to be getting a lot of hamstring injuries. I don’t know what’s happening.” SkySports

Tottenham still sit third in the Premier League standings, and have a tricky trip to Anfield to face Liverpool to negotiate on Monday night.
